One group in Springdale, protesting on Thanksgiving night against Walmart management for having employees work on the holiday. Folks from The Northwest Arkansas Workers Justice Center along with members of the community, showing support for employees who choose to walk out during their holiday shift.The group presented a mock thanksgiving skit and had a dinner table scene set up, also waving signs voicing their stance on this issue. Spokesperson Ana Aguayo says, "We're just wanting to send a message to our community that workers rights be respected because these folks also have families that they deserve to go hom to on a special night like this" The group's representative says they planned to end the protest by handing the Springdale Walmart manager a letter asking that no retaliation or firing take place against an employee who chooses to walk out on Thanksgiving.
