The American Red Cross is spreading a little cheer this holiday season, with just a pen and paper.

Folks had the opportunity to write a personal message at the Fayetteville Public Library to thank military men and women for their service. People were able to wish our service members a happy holiday, thanks to Holiday Mail for Heroes.

The cards will be sent to veterans, military families and those in active service who are stationed around the world.

"We've had three and four-year-olds come in, and write their little name. It's really special and sweet," said Lea Milford with the American Red Cross.
