The Arkansas State Police said it happened on the Southbound lane of I-540 just south of Walnut Street.
The Arkansas State Police said a Dodge Neon was traveling northbound on I-540 at a very high speed when investigators say the driver, 21 year old Rodolfo Garcia, lost control and skidded into the median. After leaving the median on the southbound side, became airborne and smashed head on into a Chevrolet pick up heading southbound.
Investigators said Garcia along with two passengers, 18 year old Hector Mejia and 17 year old Francisco Espinoza died on the scene. 16 year old Jose Gonzalez was also a passenger, he was taken to St. Marys hospital.
The driver of the pick up truck was taken to Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville with non life threatening injuries.
Mejia was a senior attending Rogers high school. Espinoza was a tenth grader on the sophomore campus in Rogers, as is Gonzalez.
