Recipe: Chocolate Crumb Apple Pie
Pie Ingredients
-1 cup chopped SNICKERS bars
-1 pie crust (9 inch)
-4 apples, peeled, cored, & thinly sliced
-1/3 cup sugar
-1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Crumb Topping Ingredients
-1 cup all purpose flour
-1/3 cup sugar
-1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
-1 stick unsalted butter, cut into pieces
-2 tablespoons SMUCKER'S MILKY WAY Caramel Topping
Recipe
1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Melt 1 cup of chopped SNICKERS bars in the top of a double boiler. When soft enough to shape, spread along the bottom and sides of pie crust.
3. Toss together all peeled, cored and thinly sliced apples, 1/3 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1/8 of a teaspoon of nutmeg, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
4. Place apples in pie crust and set aside.
5. Next, make the crumb topping. In a large mixing bowl, blend 1 cup of all purpose flour, 1/3 cup of sugar, and 1/8 teaspoon of ground nutmeg.
6. Rub 1 stick of butter into the flour mixture with your fingers, until coarse and crumbly.
7. Sprinkle over the top of apples, covering completely.
8. Bake at 400 degrees for about 45 minutes.
9. Remove from oven and drizzle SMUCKER'S MILKY WAY Caramel Topping over crust and let cool. Serve.
