The Northwest Arkansas Mercy Family YMCA celebrated its first year on Friday.

The exercise facility's partners gathered to have cake and look back over the first year of operation.

Mercy Health System and the Northwest Arkansas YMCA completely resurfaced the basketball court, put down new carpet and renovated the locker rooms and children's area during the first year.

Scott Street, President and CEO of Mercy Health System of Northwest Arkansas says they also managed to sign more than 2,200 members.

"It is a great example of a community and communities coming together to create what you see here today," he says. "We've brought life back to this facility."
