Angel Tree Benefits NWA Women's Shelter

Main Street Rogers is partnering with local preschoolers to help kids at the Northwest Arkansas Women's Shelter celebrate Christmas.

The preschool students created dozens of Christmas ornaments for the Angel Tree Project, and several stores are selling the selling the paper angels for $1.

The money goes to the women's shelter to help pay for Christmas gifts for the kids. Sandy Watts, the manager of the shelter's thrift store says the shelter houses about 250 kids throughout the year, and she says it's hard to celebrate a holiday after being torn away from your home.

"Imagine being secluded in a building that is unknown to anybody else, so that family and friends can't visit," she says.

The angels are up for sale at the Mustard Seed Menagerie, the Rusty Chair, the Dollar Saver and Fontana Fruit and Vegetable Market. The project runs through December 21st.
