Tucked away in a hidden warehouse dozens of volunteers with the Salvation Army spend countless hours sorting through gifts for children in Northwest Arkansas.

The gifts were donated from people in the community who adopted a child from the organization's Angel Tree.

"We get to see all the amazing things and the time they took to carefully think about that child and their needs," said Lt. Claudia Rosena with the Salvation Army. "

We're checking the bags make sure that it goes along with what the child has asked for."

The organizations estimates it will help nearly 2,600 children this Christmas season.

But more than gift giving the Salvation Army also helps people in need in our community through the churches, food pantries and emergency shelters.

"Because we're here to get some a warm safe place to sleep get some a couple meals a day in and actually helped them survive," said Major Tim Williford. "It's great to be to reach out to them and let them know that there's a place for them."

For now the focus is on Christmas because the holiday is only a few days away and present are waiting to be delivered.

Rosena, "For me it's a good little secret that I keep inside because it's love that's being shown."
