It's been a long 238 days since Jeff Long announced Bobby Petrino's dismissal from the Arkansas Head Coach position.

April 10th
: Petrino was fired for hiring his mistress and lying about his infamous motorcycle crash.

And as it turned out, Petrino's bad decisions put in motion a string of events most Hog fans would like to forget:

April 24th: John L. Smith was hired as the new Head coach of the football team and seemed to win over those at the press conference.

Unfortunately, winning wouldn't prove to be a theme for John L. Smith.

September 8th: the  razorbacks suffer perhaps the worst defeat in program history, losing to Louisana Monroe in Little Rock.

After a crushing loss to Alabama the following week, a bizarre exchange at a press conference

September 17th: John L. Smith tells the media to smile, yelling at times, and after a loss at Rutgers a few days later, Hog fans' hopes for a BSC type season is over.

November 24th: John L. Smith was fired after winning just four games as Razorback Head Coach.

But now new hope for Razorback fans.

Because on December 4th: a new leader is announced and Hog fans hope the series of events which follow from here give them a real reason to smile.
