Fayetteville Man Sentenced in Attempted Murder Case

A Fayetteville man accused of shooting at police during a standoff has been found guilty of attempted murder and was sentenced in court.

Sergio Andrade-Martinez was found guilty on eight counts of attempted murder. He has since been sentenced to 149 years behinds bars.

He was also convicted and sentenced on two charges of aggravated assault, two charges of illegal possession of a firearm and other drug and gun related offenses.

According to Police, Martinez fired shots at officers from the balcony of his Bedford Loop Apartment back in March.

One officer was shot in the leg during the incident and required surgery before returning to work.
