A warm welcome, and tables full of toys.

"We've recognized that there are just times during the year that are financially stressful for our military families, and the holidays are definitely one of them," says Carol Herrick, organizer of "Secret Santa" by Operation Homefront.

Operation Homefront. Bringing storefront shopping to service men and women.

Military families often have an interesting lifestyle, it can be the best of times and it can be the worst of times," Herrick says.

"When times are tough, we can be a resource for them."

Nearly 500 items were available for military families in need, and as a result, more than 40 children, locally, might find something extra under the tree this Christmas.

"I'm very thankful for it, lately we've just been meeting our bills, and not having anything extra," says Sarah Senti, from Pea Ridge, a first-class private in the National Guard.

"I was talking to my husband about it, and we weren't sure if we were going to be able to do anything for our kids this year."

But thanks to generous donors, these families can expect a holiday season salute they deserve.

"I hope that when they get home and they kind of look at every thing, they feel appreciated," Herrick says.

"I just want to say how thankful I am and thank you very much," Senti adds.
