"Every college, no matter, how great it is, can always be a little bit better," says soon-to-be president of NOrthwest Arkansas Community College, Dr. Evelyn Jorgenson.

She's still more than six months from taking the reigns, but Jorgenson is eagerly awaiting her start as NWACC's third president.

"I like to meet with students, I like to hear from them," Jorgenson says.

And that's just what she's doing this week.

Dr. Jorgenson is in town, spending the last couple days meeting staff, faculty and the kids.

"I started as a community college student, so I remeber that very well. And, I really enjoy meeting with students, they've got stories to tell, they have dreams and hopes, and if we do our job well, as administrators, as faculty and staff, we can help those dreams come true," Jorgenson adds.

Jorgenson -- whose contract was approved Thursday -- says it's too early to detail specific plans, but she knows she wants to be involved and interested with what's happening on campus.

"Develop the processes, develop the pathways and do the things, that will support students, so that they will be successful," Jorgenson says.

And current students, like Daniel Yeager, can already tell she's qualified for this position, just moments after meeting her.

"I feel like NACC has been improving, even just the year and a half that I've been there, and I think it will improve more with her too."
