The Walton Arts Center Administration building won't be standing much longer.
The plan for the new parking deck has been approved for the theater lot between School  and Spring Streets in Fayetteville.

In the next 6 to 7 months the details of the site design will be determined.
The parking deck is expected to include 5 levels for parking and more than 200 spaces. The WAC administration building will eventually  be reconstructed and connected to the garage .

"Some people are going to have a harder life because of it during construction but in general our patrons that go to the entertainment district will see it but it won't be effecting how well they can get around and how well they can park during the job," David Jurgens, Utilities Director for the City of Fayetteville said.

A final layout is expected to be presented to the planning commission in the spring with construction beginning in the Summer of 2013.

The estimated 6.1 million dollar project  will be paid for exclusively through the cities parking revenue, not taxes.
