On Friday, Amy Palacios and her boys got gifts through the annual Santa Cop program.
"It's great because we weren't able to get very much stuff for them and because they were chosen for the program, they get to choose what they wanted," said Amy.
Police officers like Lt. Derek Hudson, traded in his badge for a santa hat.
"We come here and they each get $125 a piece. They get $100 that they spend on necessities and then they get to come here to the toy section to pick out whatever they want. It's a really good deal. It's great for the community. It's great interaction for us. It helps out our families that need," said Hudson.
A program, leaving a lasting impression on folks like Amy and her sons.
"There's nothing better than them smiling. It's going to be a really good Christmas," said Amy.
The spirit of giving, shining bright this season in Springdale.
