Western Kentucky introduced former Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino to a standing ovation today on campus in Bowling Green.

Petrino replaces Willie Taggert, the only coach in Hilltopper history to take the team to a bowl game. At Arkansas Petrino coveted a heavy buyout in excess of $18-million that gave the coach and Arkansas a long term commitment to one another. At Western Kentucky his salary will be $850,000 per year, less than a quarter of his $3.5-million base at Arkansas.

Petrino will have a $1.2-million dollar buyout if he choses to leave for another job, a relative number in today's coaching profession; Arkansas paid $1-miilion to buyout the contract of Bret Bielema at Wisconsin.
