Channing became a resident of Northwest Arkansas as a freshman at the University in 2007, where she went on to graduate with degrees in broadcast journalism and political science in 2012. She is a proud Razorback alumnus who was once named the most spirited Hog during campus Homecoming celebrations.
She joined the KNWA team prior to graduation as a producer, but knew reporting was her true passion and eagerly awaited the opportunity to join the on-air team. She had participated in KNWA's internship program during college, as well as public policy internships in Washington, D.C. and New York City.
The variety of story opportunities each day is what challenges and inspires her. She especially enjoys meeting people in the community and hearing "their story," as she believes everyone has something unique and valuable to offer others. She hopes to be the conduit to positive change and bring awareness of issues of importance to the KNWA audience.
Originally from Northeast Oklahoma, she has a great appreciation for the beauty and culture of Northwest Arkansas. She has a large family throughout Oklahoma and Texas, and includes her close friends - and pets - under the category of family as well.
Channing grew up regarding community service as something that is necessary as a good citizen and participates in many charity efforts, including the National MS Society and Junior League of Northwest Arkansas. She enjoys following politics, watching crime shows, hockey and comedies, and - not surprisingly - calling the Hogs!
