Lavaca Schools Awarded $24,000 in Grants

More than $24,000 in new projects has been awarded to Lavaca Public Schools. Students and the community will benefit from new iPads, a disc golf course, a women's health event and new library resources.

 

A $15,000 dollar Arkansas 21st Century Community Learning Center Mini-Grant was used to purchase 23 Apple tablets with apps that include Amazing Science Experiments, Amazing Human Body, The Night Sky, Graphing Calculator, and Math Ninja.

 

 Additionally, the school district and the City of Lavaca have been awarded $5,708 for the development of a public disc golf course.

 

And a $2,300 grand will fund the 'Leading Lavaca Women to Wellness' event. A Women's Health Night is to be held on May 12th at the start of National Women Health. The Event will kick off a series of activities planned for the community.
