Which College Football Team is Worth the Most Money?

Updated: January 7, 2013
Monday night's BCS National Championship will determine which team is tops on the field.  But where does Arkansas' program rank at the bank?

A Wall Street Journal report looks at what some of the biggest college teams might fetch if they could be bought and sold like pro franchises.

Taking top honors for total worth is Texas with a reported $761.7 million value, according to a Wall Street Journal report.  The SEC boasts some of the most valuable teams - 8 of the top 15 on the list coming from the conference.

Arkansas ranks 14th overall, seventh highest worth in the SEC, with a worth of just over $330 million.  Other high dollar programs include Auburn at #6, plus Alabama and LSU grabbing the #8 and #9 spots.

The study was conducted by Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus.
