Rogers Fire Fights Several Grass Fires Along I-540

Rogers firefighters battled six small grass fires along I-540 on Monday afternoon.

According to Fire Chief Tom Jenkins, the flames ignited over several spots on the west side of the interstate, between the Lowell and Rogers exits.  All the blazes were under control quickly.

At least 3 trucks responded to the fires including Lowell fire department who assisted the Rogers FD.

No cause is known at this time.
