Immigrant population is on the move in the Natural State.

According to a new study, announced by the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation on Tuesday, while immigrants occupy only about 5 percent of our state's population, that figure jumps to 10 percent among children.

Various speakers shed some light on what the growth of incoming citizens can do for our communities, and state as a whole.  One part of the presentation included a live stream of speakers giving the same presentation in Little Rock.

The organization's research shows immigrant population increases are more evident in both the central and northwest parts of our state.

"The impact of immigrants on the state of Arkansas, economically, is actually tremendous," said Cory Anderson, VP of the Foundation. "Our research shows that immigrants spend and contribute to the state about $3.9 billion dollars a year. And that's really important when we think about the future economy of our state."
