On Sunday Springdale liquor sales are in full force.
"When we saw that Springdale was going to address this issue and take a public vote, we realized it could have an impact on our retailers who sell liquor," says Steve Clark, President of the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce.
Because just down the road in Fayetteville, the liquor's locked up for the Lord's day.
"It's an issue that's of concern from the chambers perspective. We want all businesses to thrive."
But Sunday sales in Springdale could be hurting Fayetteville retailers.
"I think we have lost, I don't actually have any empirical data to show that right now."
But that's what Clark is trying to track down.
"If we're going to go to the voters and say we would ask you to do this we must demonstrate to them that there's a reason and it's a valid financial reason."
So selling spirits on Sunday is a conversation that's just getting started in Fayetteville.
"Patterns can be changed very easily because of convenience and that's what this is about, it's about convenience to purchase alcoholic spirits on Sunday."
And the chamber is working to make sure the money isn't running to Springdale, simply for convenience.
"We've started these discussions to try and make certain we have a level playing field in Washington County and also with Benton County."
