Motorcycle and Bus Collide on County Road

By: Amanda Ashley
Updated: January 11, 2013
A father and son were injured after their motorcycle collided with a school bus on Friday afternoon.  According to Mary Ley at Bentonville Schools, the quick reaction of the bus driver may have prevented more severe accident.

The crash happened on County Road 40 and Rolling Hills Road when Ley says the motorcycle hit a rut and swayed into the path of the bus.  Ley says the bus driver saw them and was able to get pulled mostly off the road so the motorcycle only hit the tire of the bus.

The two riders on the bike were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Both were wearing helmets according to Ley.

Only 5 kids were on the bus, none were injured. Bentonville police and fire worked the accident.
