Saturday Kendra Skaggs hosted a candlelight vigil - turned glow stick vigil due to rain --  at Mary Mae Jones Elementary in Bentonville.

About 50 of the Skaggs friends and family met to pray for the children in orphanages in Russia as well as the families on their way overseas to bring them to their new homes.

They had 46 balloons at the vigil to represent the 46 children awaiting their fate over the next few weeks.

In Russia Sunday, 20,000 people will protest the new law banning American adoptions.

"We both have the passion for adoption and we're here just to pray that Russia will see the value in their children and release them to come into their families," Tina Kacirek, Executive Director  at Grace Haven Ministries and friend of the Skaggs said.

Skaggs said  friends across the world connected through her blog participated in the vigil as well.
