Republican Asa Hutchinson has a higher favorable opinion rating than Democrat Dustin McDaniel in a new poll on the 2014 Arkansas governor's race.

The survey by Public Policy Polling asked "Do you have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of Asa Hutchinson/Dustin McDaniel?"

The results give Hutchinson with a 39-percent favorable opinion rating and an unfavorable opinion rating of 30-percent. Numbers for McDaniel are 25-percent favorable opinion and 40-percent unfavorable.

When asked who they would vote for in the November 2014 election, Hutchinson comes out on top again with 46-percent to McDaniel's 33-percent.

The survey asked 11 other questions, including, "Generally speaking, do you think Arkansas is headed in the right direction, or is it off on the wrong track? Fifty-one percent responded the state was headed in the right direction, 28-percent chose the wrong track option and another 22-percent were "not sure."
