UA Prof. Wins National Award For Church Design

From a simple metal shed to a church complete with a sky-lit tower and cross backlit by the morning sun.
It's a design project that scored a University of Arkansas professor a national award.
According to the university, professor and architecture department head Marlon Blackwell won the honor award for his unique design of St. Nicholas Church in Springdale.
The American Institute of Architects chose Blackwell's design from more than 700 entries.
The AIA Awards are considered the highest national professional honors in architecture.
