Stuffy noses, coughing, annoying aches and pains all felt across the country.

There are some apps that can help get you through.

Starting with Fight the Flu. It's good for checking symptoms and finding out just how severe the flu is where you are, compared to the rest of the country.

Plus, Flu Defender. It's similar to Fight the Flu, but slightly more user friendly. It has a "vaccine assistant" that asks you a slew of questions and then identifies your flu risk.

Once you have the flu, Easy Home Remedies app helps give you just what it advertises. It's also not just for the flu but any other minor medical issues you'd like to give some attention.

Finally if you're more of a Facebook fan, Help Remedies has a new app called Help: My friend gave me the flu.

After answering a few questions, the app goes through your Facebook  posts from your friends and see who've posted about not feeling well. The app then lets you know who may be to blame for making you take some sick days.

Not sick? It also tells you who to avoid during this frightful flu season.

The apps are not an alternative to going to the doctor. If you're feeling flu-like symptoms, it's time to see your physician.
