By: Jason Carroll
Updated: January 17, 2013

The Little Rock Touchdown Club has announced its honorees for 2012 football season. The players and coaches will be honored when the club holds its annual banquet on Friday, Feb.1 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in West Little Rock.

Each year, the Little Rock Touchdown Club honors a most valuable player from each of the 11 college football programs in the state along with a most valuable player and coach from each of the six high school football classifications.

The club also presents the annual Paul Eells Award, which is given to the University of Arkansas player who exhibits perseverance, determination and courage in the face of adversity. The award is named for the late Paul Eells, who for many years was the Voice of the Razorbacks and the sports director of KATV-TV, Channel 7, in Little Rock.

Based on a vote of the membership, the club also honors the top players and coach in the Southeastern Conference along with a national player of the year.

Notable 2012 honorees include:

*QB Tyler Wilson from the University of Arkansas, a two time honoree who
holds school records in multiple offensive categories

*Arkansas running back Dennis Johnson, the recipient of the Paul Eells Award

*Arkansas State University quarterback Ryan Aplin, a three-time honoree

*Fayetteville High School Coach Daryl Patton, a three-time honoree

*Co-MVPs from Great American Conference Champion Henderson State University
-Kevin Rodgers & Maxie Graham

Those desiring additional information should contact Kelly Lasseigne, the club's executive
director, at info@lrtouchdown.com or 590-3529. General admission tickets are $25 with VIP seating available for $50.

A buffet lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. The program will run from 11:45 a.m. until 1 p.m.
