A number of bills were introduced.
Proposed legislation includes a constitutional amendment that would require a 3/5 vote from the Legislature when lawmakers are considering tax-related bills.
Another proposed constitutional amendment would establish a recall procedure for elected officials.
A bill to eliminate the food tax by 2009 has also been unveiled.
All three pieces of legislation had a first and second reading and were then sent to committee for review.
