A Fayetteville man is accused of robbing his next-door neighbor using a hatchet and baseball bat.
22-year-old Dustin Faust was arrested Monday after a man reported being robbed in the parking lot of his apartment complex a week earlier.
According to an arrest report, the victim told police he confronted two men who appeared to be trying to break into his vehicle.
One of the men drew a hatchet on the victim and held it against his throat.
The other male, later identified as Faust, stepped into a next-door apartment and returned with an aluminum baseball bat and held it against the back of the victim's head while the other suspect patted him down and took his wallet containing $250 cash.
Both suspects then fled into the next-door apartment where the victim told police Faust lived.
After a search of the apartment, Detectives found a hatchet blade cover and an aluminum baseball bat matching the description of the one used in the robbery.
Police also found medications and other property belonging to a Stacy Jackson who the victim identified in a lineup as the second suspect.
The arrest report says Faust initially denied any involvement but later admitted to going into the apartment with Jackson armed with a bat and hatchet to confront the victim about stealing an X-Box.
Faust is in Washington County Jail facing charges of aggravated robbery and theft of property.
