The Elkins Police Department is reporting heavy storm damage throughout the city.
Chief Bill Rhodes says they have lots of trees down, some of which have landed on cars.
He says there's damage all throughout the West side of the city and power is out as far as Highway 74 but no casualties have been reported.
Rhodes says they're now going door to door throughout the neighborhoods to look for people who are in need of assistance.
Kids in Elkins schools were moved into the hallways as a precaution in accordance with their tornado drill procedure.
Chief Rhodes requests that anyone not from Elkins stay away from the area so that they can safely offer assistance to those who need it.
