Rogers Boundary Proposal: What It Means To You and Your Family

An increase in enrollment and the opening of a new elementary school are all reasons for boundary changes.

A committee made up of principals and a parent representative from each school presented a proposal at two meetings this week.

Not everyone is happy about the changes, however. The reason? They don't want to pull their kids out of a familiar school, only to move another school.  One part of the proposal includes grandfathering which would allow students entering fifth and eighth grades to finish their last year at their current school and then revert to their boundary school.

It would also allow 10th, 11th and 12th graders to be grandfathered so that they can graduate from their current high school.
