FOX News Pundit: How About a Rubio-Cotton Ticket in 2016?

By: FOX 16 in Little Rock
Updated: February 11, 2013

Could Arkansas congressman Tom Cotton be on the presidential ticket in 2016?

While it may be far too early in the Dardanelle native's political career for that to happen, one political pundit tossed around the idea during this morning's FOX News Sunday broadcast.

Cotton joined a panel that included liberal columnist Juan Williams and Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol.

At the end of the segment, Kristol, who was chuckling at the time, said the GOP should go with a Marco Rubio and Tom Cotton presidential ticket in 2016.

While the comment may have been in good fun, it certainly shows that Cotton is a rising start within the Republican ranks.

Cotton was on the show to discuss President Obama's role in potentially halting automatic spending cuts before they take effect.

Cotton argued defense cuts shouldn't be an option and that overall tax reform was the solution.

He added it'll likely take many months to negotiate.
