Arkansas State Senator David Sanders has filed four bills at the State Capitol in hopes of keeping parole violators from committing new crimes.
One of the bills would require parole violators to serve the remainder of their earlier sentence, and another would require a parolee to be arrested if they commit a violent or sexual offense.
The third bill would include sexual offenses and other felonies as being not eligible for mandatory parole, and the fourth would redefine how the state tracks how many parolees have re-offended.
These bills haven't yet been heard, but KNWA will update you on their progress.
