FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - University of Arkansas junior Emily Tubert earned Southeastern Conference Women's Golfer of the Week the league office announced today.

The Burbank, Calif., native paced the 12th-ranked Razorbacks to a runner-up finish in the first event of the spring season at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico this week.

Tubert won the event shooting a three-under 213 with rounds of 70-70-73. The win is the fourth career title for the two-time All-SEC and All-America selection and is the 15th top five finish of her career.

Tubert opened play Sunday playing the front nine of the Ocean Course plus-one. She birdied 11, 12 and 13 but gave one back with a bogey on the 15th hole. She finished strong with a pair of par holes and a birdie for her first-round 70.

Tubert matched that score in the second round with two bogeys and four birdies again on the 11th and 13th holes. As the winds and rains increased over the tournament, she would finish steady with a plus-one 73 in the last round with one birdie and 15 par holes on the day.

For the season, Tubert has played in all 12 rounds for Arkansas with 874 strokes and a team-leading 72.83 stroke average ranking sixth in the SEC.

She was the 65th-ranked player in the nation prior to the event and should move up in the Golfweek.com player rankings next week.

The spring season continues as Tubert leads the Razorbacks into action at the Westbrook Invitational in Peoria, Ariz., Feb. 24-25.
