Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Suing University of Arkansas

By: Lisa Mendenhall
Updated: February 13, 2013
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette is suing the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and its chancellor to force disclosure of records it has refused to make public.

The newspaper claims the defendants are violating the state Freedom of Information Act by not releasing documents the paper has been requesting since December.

The paper says the documents they are asking for would show taxpayers how the school's fundraising program ran up a $3.4 million deficit.
