Fayetteville Downtown Partners may start up a concierge program-- not the kind where people run your errands for you-- but a service that would show new people Northwest Arkansas` hot spots.
Fayetteville Downtown Partners Executive Director Daniel Hintz says the idea grew out of talking to companies human resource departments and learning that many have a hard time recruiting and retaining potential employees.
"They`re coming from larger cities and they`re used to very specific amenities, and often times the company doesn`t have the time to do all the research about what`s going on out there, what`s happening?"
Hintz says the concierge program would give people a taste of what downtown Fayetteville and all of Northwest Arkansas has to offer, and each service could be catered to people`s personal interests.
"The idea is then that these conventions, as they work all day, they want to be able to play at night. So there`s the opportunity for us to create a hands on experience, take them to those restaurants they really want to explore, take them on unique retail experiences."
Hintz says any company could use the concierge services for their conventions.
In addition to the concierge program, the group is also working on a Downtown Ambassadors program, which would provide helpful information to people learning about the area.
"They can actually create a face to face experience with people so people can go to them...it creates an added value to the great materials that the Convention & Visitors Bureau is doing."
