The City of Springdale added more new jobs than any other in Arkansas over the last two years.

The Springdale Chamber of Commerce says the city is responsible for one fifth of the state's new jobs created over the last two years.

"We've got a great workforce here in Springdale," says Lance Eads, the chamber's vice president of economic development. "We've been able to see a lot of our companies do more than well and really thrive during a pretty much down economy."

Eads says the natural state added more than 43,000 non-farm jobs over the last two years.

"Springdale alone is responsible for 20 percent of that number," he says. "We've seen growth across the board, pretty much so that's a huge positive for us."

Walmart plans to open a new supercenter in the Elm Springs area in 2014, and Eads believes the new job creation in Northwest Arkansas will continue.

"The ability to provide interstate frontage for a lot for somebody right next to a Walmart supercenter... that's going to really kick start the development in that part of the city," he says
