NWA Man Arrested for 30-year-old Murder

Illinois authorities have arrested a Northwest Arkansas man for a murder that happened almost 30 years ago.
Lee County Illinois Sheriff John Varga announced the arrest of 56-year-old Steven A. Watts from Berryville in connection with the death of Gary Dawson who was 30 years old at the time of his murder.
Dawson died from blunt force trauma to the head. His body was found in rural Franklin Grove, Illinois on August 28, 1983
Watts has been charged with first degree murder. He waived extradition and was taken to Illinois where he'll be held in Lee County jail on $5 million bond.
