Winter Weather Strands Greenwood School Buses

By: Lisa Mendenhall
Updated: February 20, 2013
Rough roads are forcing some kids to stay at school despite closures in the River Valley.

Greenwood Police say the winter weather has school buses at a stand still - unable to take kids home from school.

Parents have been asked to pick their children up from school, but because of increased traffic on the roads, more accidents are taking place, says Greenwood Police Sergeant Brandon Davis.

The school will try to take students home if there is a break in the weather, but Sgt. Davis says it's possible students could be stranded at the school until late Wednesday night or even Thursday morning if no rides are provided and parents aren't able to pick them up.
