Updated: February 20, 2013
SourceGas customers are being warned about a number of nationwide billing scams.
The scams range from a single person trying to obtain a customer's personal information to attempts to illegally obtain customer payments.
SourceGas would like their customers to be aware of the type of information they give out to avoid falling victim to identity theft scams.
The scammers have been known to use fake employee names and ID numbers when contacting customers.
SourceGas wants customers to know they will never obtain a customer's full social security number, account number of password by way of a phone call.
SourceGas employees always carry an employee badge and will always be driving a company vehicle with the SourceGas logo visible.
If you're unsure about any contact you receive from SourceGas just call 1-800-563-0012 to verify. You can call the same number if you think you've been the victim of a scam, but you should also report the incident to local law enforcement.
