Police say Fort Smith man is behind bars after shooting his son-in-law in the throat.
Charles Marr, 68, was arrested after police say he shot his son-in-law for driving recklessly.
According to a police report, officers responded to 5311 Elm Street around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, where they found Henry Killian, 62, with gunshot wounds to his throat.
Police say Marr was complaining that Killian, his son-in-law, was driving erratically and doing doughnuts in a vacant lot that separates the two men's houses.
The report states that Marr told investigators he was about to get into the shower when he heard Killian start his truck and begin spinning out in the yard.
That's when officers say Marr got his 12-gauge shotgun and went outside.
According to the police report, Marr said Killian drove straight at him, like he was going to run him over, so Marr shot one round into the front windshield.
Then, according to the report, Killian turned the truck around and Marr fired another shot at him, striking him in the throat.
Police tell FOX 24 the gun was loaded with birdshot and that Henry Killian was transported to Sparks Medical Center with non-life threatening wounds.
Charles Marr was arrested for first degree domestic battery and booked in the Sebastian County Detention Center.
