The Bentonville school system expelled several students for possible gang violence, but parents of those students say nothing gang related occurred. Late last month, ten students were reprimanded for what high school administrators took to be a gang "jump-in." Which is a gang initiation ritual where several individuals beat another, who hopes to become part of the gang. Administrators say the jump-in was recorded on their school`s security cameras, but some parents who have seen the video say all they can see are teenagers fooling around. Punishments for those involved range from ten days suspension to two semesters of expulsion, but seven of those punishments have been appealed and hearings for those disputes are scheduled for March 8th and 9th.
