A Fayetteville KFC employee claimed she was robbed Thursday night...but it turns out the whole thing was staged.
Forty-year-old Tina Brown and her son, 24-year-old Brandon Deere admitted to setting up the robbery after police found holes in their stories. The two are charged with filing a false police report and theft.
It all started when Brown told police a man punched her in the face and robbed her while she was changing a flat tire in the KFC parking lot after work.
She told officers the man took off with her purse and a deposit bag containing money and checks belonging to KFC.
