Lisa Bowden  was nursing her baby when she noticed a knot that didn't go away.
Lisa says she has a family history of breast cancer. So, she thought she'd better see a Doctor.
Lisa soon learned she had cancer in one of her breast.
Lisa says, "I don't think either one of us thought it was going to be anything positive.  We assumed clogged milk ducts. Things that go along with nursing.  So it was a little bit of a shock"
Her husband John Agrees, "Lisa went back first.   When she came out to talk to me....you can ..I guess you know somethings not quite right"
Soon the family would have an overwhelming amount of information and choices.
Lisa says "I think one of the hardest things to hear is it's your decision, you need to decide how you want to do this."
The Bowden family made those Decisions.  Lisa eventually had a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery..
When i asked Lisa if she had a message for other women she said,
"Women have got to take control of this! Yes, It's scary, but it's sure a lot scarier when its more advanced.  That's your best way to beat this, is to find it early and not let it get to the point they can't do anything to help."
