In an effort to beautify Northwest Arkansas, the Walton Arts Center has commissioneed a sculpture artist to install floweresque clusters along Interstate 540. Artist Lee Littlefield says he enjoys road side projects. Hes also working on a similar exhibit in Houston on Interstates 10 and 45. Littlefield started two years ago making these flower sculptures for I-540. In all, there will be 30 sculptures in eight different locations. Theyre made out of wood and painted with the same paint used on signs. Littlefield says he chose very bright colors like acid green and vibrant orange so drivers will notice them as they drive along the interstate.
