Water Fees Lawsuit Heats Up

By: Lisa Brence
Updated: April 20, 2007
A lawsuit over water hook-up fees is heating up in one local city. Monarch Development is suing Rogers Water Utilities, claiming the water companys hook-up fees are actually illegal impact fees: a claim the water company denies. Now the water company may take its case to the Rogers City Council to discuss the need for the fees. The utility company is still collecting the fees, but attorneys for the developers say they want the money from the fees to be refunded to customers.
