Faculty at JBU say the FBI warned the school of an internet threat last night...and after the Virginia Tech massacre, the school didnt take it lightly. The FBI came across the post while conducting internet scans for threats following the tragedy in Virginia. Neither the school or investigators will reveal exactly what the threat says, but describe it as a single, unspecific and anonymous threat against JBU. A spokeswoman for the school says the threat was mentioned in the context of the Virginia Tech murders and the person indicated they wanted to do harm. JBU students say the school and police department reacted quickly. "As soon as i was on my way and out of my first class I saw officers and campus safety already walking around the premises so I feel very secure," says Kyle Spencer, a junior at JBU. For most on campus, It was business as usual. "Everyones going to class, no ones avoiding hanging out in the typical hang out spots, no ones avoiding the cafeteria. You can definitely tell theres a presence on campus of security," says sophomore Kristie Neff. Friday afternoon the FBI identified the person responsible for the threat. A JBU spokeswoman says the person is not local, but the school will continue to keep a close eye on things.
