Those who knew 21-year-old Nina Ingram say a year later her murder is still extremely painful, especially since no one has been arrested for the crime.
"She was just a wonderful girl that brought smiles to everybody, brought life to everybody," Ingrams mother Judy says.
But her life was cut short on April 22, 2006, when she was found strangled to death in her apartment.
Investigators say there was no sign of forced entry and a year later the case remains unsolved.
Judy Ingram says she still struggles with the loss.
"Some days are real hard because in the grieving process you never know how youre going to feel, but most of the time I do pretty good."
"I think about her a lot and just how someone could do this to such a sweet person. Shes completely innocent and here we are a year later and we still have no news, its terrible," says Ryan Ardary, Ingrams co-worker and friend.
As time passes, Ingrams friends and family lean on each other, and hold out hope that justice will be served.
"Im very pleased with the police department, I think theyre doing everything they can," Judy says.
"Theres no perfect crime and eventually it will all come out," Ingrams aunt June Hall adds.
