bankrobbery2007-04-24-1177420532.jpgThe Arkansas Bankers Association says there were 30% more bank robberies last year than in 2005. Last year also marked the natural state's first-ever bank robbery fatality. Now, banks are joining forces to come up with ways to curb the crime through a robbery prevention program and a reward program. The ABA is encouraging all local banks and the public to help in the effort. The ABA will present details of the program during a news conferece in Springdale this afternoon. KNWAs Meghan Dill will have more on this story tonight at 6.
