After leaving politics, one door in specific fred thompson wants to leave open - Is the front door to the White House. Or does he? The retired Tennessee Senator and hollywood actor has a successful grassroots based campaign right now. But he is not even officially running! Not yet. He has mentioned he is thinking of running just a few weeks ago on FOX NEWS. Though some GOPers believe he could be the star at the center of a party with no real star power right now. Though hes never worked in the white house in real life - he has in movies. And he even played the role of president in "Last Best Chance." He also made an appearance as a convincing politician on HBOs "Sex And The City." But a recent poll of republican voters released by rasmussen report says, without even putting his hat in the ring, hes tied for second place with Arizona senator John McCain - one of his closest friends and allies. They even sat next to each other on the senate floor. We tried to get in touch with fmr governor mike huckabee a gop nomination hopeful - to get his take -- but he was unavailable for comment.
