Jeremy Grammer is no longer a member of the Fayetteville Police Department, but exactly why he was fired is unknown. 30 year old Jeremy Grammer was with the Fayetteville Police Department since March 2 of 1998. Grammer served in many different departments including patrol, K9 and the emergency response team. The past year he spent time with the investigation dept. We spoke with his boss, Sgt. Tim Franklin who told us he was a good employee. Fayetteville police Chief Greg Tabor wouldnt tell us why Grammer was fired only that, "He was terminated following an internal investigation, where he was found to be in violation of the departments policy, procedures and rules. Its now an open and active criminal investigation being conducted by the feds." We checked with the Federal Court house to see if anything was on file there. We found Grammer involved in a lawsuit with a former razorback football player, Justin Slaughter. Slaughter accused Grammer and a few other Fayetteville police officers for violating his constituional rights back in 2003. Slaughter claims the officers improperly searched his vehicle. We spoke with Slaughters attorney who told us Grammers firing doesnt have anything to do with this case. Ironically Grammer was given a community service award by the department in 06.
